Asiasoft reported lower earnings in fiscal year 2013 due to impairment and write-off of game licenses and delay in game launches.

28 February 2014 - Kenny Goh, the CFO of of Asiasoft Corporation Public Company Limited ("Asiasoft" or "The Group") announced today that Group revenue for 2013 reported 1,714.77 million Baht, 15% lower than 2012( 2012: 2,016.32 million Baht). Net profit in FY 2013 of 51.94 million baht is 82% (or 293.98 million baht) lower than FY 2012. The lower Group revenue are due to lower online income resulted from weak performance in new game launches, coupled with delays from the new game launches, both domestically and overseas. The Company decided to postpone 19 games from the planned 29 game launches due to changing market environment. Revenue from distribution income decreased by 163 million baht or 59% as no major packaged product was launched in FY2013.

The company has reviewed the game license inventory and decided to make full provision for impairment of game licenses on games that are under performing or games that the management feels that the gamers are losing favor. This resulted in a 106 million Baht (2012: 40 million Baht) of impairment provision and write off costs.

Earnings per share for FY 2013 are 0.17 Baht and no dividend is proposed for Q4 2013. The company paid a total dividend per share of 0.45 Baht in FY2013, equivalent to a dividend yield of 5.11%.

Mr. Goh added that the Group is evolving its business with strategy covering areas:

The Group targeted to grow its revenue in FY2014 by more than 25 from FY2013. Oversea revenue contribution is expected to exceed that from domestic.
